PassivEnergy is a smart, easy to install wireless system
It puts us back in control of our homes. Here’s how it works.
|
PassivHub
The heart and brains of our service. It talks wirelessly to our temperature sensors, heating and hot water controls and, if we are monitoring a solar PV system, our solar generation meter. PassivHub then connects via existing broadband to PassivLiving™, our secure online monitoring and control dashboard. PassivHub lets us remotely keep the home up-to-date with software upgrades and enhanced service functions.

PassivController
PassivController makes setting the heating and hot water schedule easy by asking simple questions about how people like to live their lives. Its monitoring screen allows people to see the current temperature of their homes, the amount of hot water in their tanks or their solar PV system’s generation output.

PassivEnergy iPhone App
PassivEnergy iPhone app lets people control their heating and hot water from anywhere in the world. If they are out later than expected or heading home early they can tell their iPhone app and PassivEnergy will adjust their schedule so their home is ready for them when they step through the door.

Occupancy Buttons
We all use our homes differently and during each day we use different parts of our homes at different times. PassivSystems occupancy buttons allow people to control zones independently of each other, so when they are in bed upstairs, the radiators are not blasting away downstairs.

Boiler Controller (HVAC)
PassivSystems HVAC Controller allows the PassivEnergy system to intelligently control the boiler for heating and hot water. Here are some of the benefits:
• Temperature smoothing provides tighter temperature control.
• Optimum start ensures no wasted energy when heating the home.
• Weather compensation takes into consideration the weather outside when heating inside.
• Zone control allows consumers to control heating based on where they are and how they use different areas of their home

Hot Water Controller and Water Temperature Sensors
Our sensors connect to our hot water controller and are used on pipes and hot water tanks to help PassivHub learn when to turn the boiler on. They have an accuracy of 0.1ºC, which helps us make sure consumers only heat water when they need it.

Generation Meter (for GSM installations)
The PassivEnergy GSM electricity meter is designed for properties without an internet connection or properties with high occupancy turn-over which could result in intermittent internet connectivity. It uses GSM to transmit electricity generation data at intervals agreed as part of the PassivEnergy monitoring service - either half-hourly readings supplied once every 24 hours or a single reading supplied once every seven days. The meter is supplied with security options to avoid any physical tampering, data corruption and unauthenticated access. The meter continuously monitors the status of the real time clock, non volatile memory and battery conditions.

Generation Meter (for Broadband Installations)
The PassivEnergy electricity meter is a digital meter that measures solar PV generation, heatpump consumption and general electricity consumption in single phase installations. This not only makes it a widely accepted and affordable option for residential electricity metering but through the inbuilt secure mesh radio link communication module, this meter also enables wireless communication over the ZigBee wireless mesh network. The meter is supplied with security options to avoid any physical tampering, data corruption and unauthenticated access. The meter continuously monitors the status of the real time clock, non volatile memory and battery conditions.

PassivLiving
PassivLiving gives one point of access to monitor a system’s performance and soon, one point of access for system control too. If consumers ask us to, it also lets us share their data with their service providers so that they can respond to dips in performance straight away.
