Soon PassivEnergy will be able to do just that. By using online weather forecasts sent from our service, and using its knowledge of typical hot water usage patterns in any given home, PassivEnergy will make sure that as much hot water as possible is generated using solar power.

Installing PassivEnergy with solar thermal panels means that the existing boiler will be used only as a back-up when solar hot water isn’t (or isn’t going to be) available. That way, the system prioritises free renewable energy sources over fossil fuel – saving money and carbon.

PassivEnergy also ensures that the solar installation is generating as much energy as it is supposed to.
