• Dr Mike Patterson CEnv CEng MEI - Business Development Director

Mike is an energy technologist at heart and
his time in academia and commerce reflects
this. Mike was the Managing Director of Digital
Living, which was acquired by Passiv in July
2009. Digital Living had visions of how to
achieve carbon savings in homes through
innovation downstream of a UK smart grid and

brought on board. Tim's focus at PassivSystems is on developing strong
supportive partnerships rather than simple sales channels; his
understanding of the installer and developer market has helped us to
tailor our products and services to create new revenue streams and
customer relationship opportunities for the businesses we work with.

• Simon Lewis - Director, Product Strategy

An electronic engineer by training, and a
software engineer by background, Simon
spent formative years in the corporate research
labs of BT and HP. More recently, he’s been
a founder of several technology start-ups
in Bristol and Cambridge. Frustrated and
embarrassed by the technology industry’s
inability to create products designed for
ordinary humans, Simon has tried to atone
for those sins by understanding human
behaviours and motivations, and delivering
products built around them. In his spare
time he provides telephone support to
family members who bought products from
companies that didn’t share that ambition.

Simon Lewis
Director, Product Strategy

Customer care is at the heart of PassivSystems’

she likes best, shaped no doubt by her time working on the 1997 Labour
Election Campaign, as well as other sector-changing companies such as
Volvo, Nokia and Visa. At PassivSystems, we are committed to keeping
the consumer at the heart of our product development and our research

can about what our customers want and that they, in turn, understand
how we can support them.

Our Story.

PassivSystems was established in 2008 to develop leading-edge smart-home technology for the mass market. With a team of successful entrepreneurs, technologists, designers, marketing experts and others from the communications and energy industries, we aim to establish a profitable enterprise delivering effective solutions to some of today's most pressing global problems.

Starting with energy, and continuing with security, assisted-living and other lifestyle services, we're creating simple, human-centred products that help people live better, save money, and look after each other.

We’ve also been building rich partnerships with others. We're working with world-class manufacturers to integrate our offerings. We’re working with energy companies to meet their legal and strategic goals today and exploring new futures and business models for tomorrow. And for distributors and installers of domestic systems, we offer a new and attractive line of business.
