What is the Green Homes Grant (GHG)?
The GHG is a voucher scheme worth up to £5,000* for households. It can be spent on qualifying measures to make your home more energy efficient, and less polluting. Those measures include new low carbon heating systems, smart controls and insulation.
Vouchers must be redeemed by 31 March 2021.
* If you are in receipt of benefits, you can receive a £10,000 voucher.

What is the benefit of a

How much can I claim under the GHG?
For households not in receipt of benefits you can claim two thirds (capped at £5,000) off the
cost of your new heating system. For householders in receipt of benefits you can claim £10,000
with no customer contribution required.
How long do I have to claim a GHG voucher?
The GHG scheme opened for applications on the 30 September 2020 and runs until 31 March 2021.
All vouchers must be redeemed by the 31 March deadline.
Can I claim the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) alongside the GHG?
Yes. The value of your GHG voucher will be taken off your regular RHI payments.
You will need to notify Ofgem that you have taken out a GHG voucher when you apply for the RHI.
What homes are eligible?
All homes other than unoccupied newly built homes.

- Have a home internet connection
- Own your own home and have access to outdoor space
- Have loft insulation that is at least 150mm deep
- Do not have microbore (biro-sized) pipework in your home
- Do not have wet underfloor heating
Your voucher is only valid for use with qualified professionals who have the right credentials. Before you can do anything, you need to get a quote for your heat pump and smart controls. Once the works are complete your installer will redeem the voucher on your behalf.
