- Award winning ‘Freedom Project’ field trial of hybrid heating with advanced smart control has provided the catapult the UK needs to rapidly decarbonise domestic heat.
- Passiv’s IoT integration platform now has the capability to work with manufacturers of all types of domestic heating equipment including phase change storage devices.
- PassivSystems is an MCS accredited installer and a member of the Renewable Energy Code of Conduct (RECC).
Over the last 10 years Passiv have been leading the UK in the research and development of demand energy management and domestic smart control. They are passionate about creating cost and carbon reductions for the UK energy consumer and enabling the rapid decarbonisation of heat that will unlock value for all actors within the energy market via their IoT aggregation platform.
The valuable experience they have gained from developing advanced predictive controls for supporting the deployment of hybrid renewable heating systems as part of the Freedom project has allowed them to become specialists in providing design, installation and maintenance services for their industry clients. Their goal of providing affordable low carbon heat has been realised and with their major clients they are now ready to support the large scale roll-out of new and retrofit hybrid heating systems.
Key appointments have recently been made to drive this service forward. Cliff Arnold has recently been appointed as Heating Systems Director and is heading up the new team, which has big ambitions to deliver over 10,000 new installations before 2021. Rob Hughes as Installation Manager will oversee the field work and ensure the delivery of the quality installations in line with MCS and RECC standards.
Cliff has over 14 years of renewable and heating industry experience as a heating design engineer, developing RHI and MCS compliant business systems, deploying and installing over 700 renewable heating systems. He has also spent a number of years on the MCS steering committee supporting the development of product and installation standards within the UK. More recently Cliff has managed a Swedish heat pump manufacturing business and has been instrumental in the development of the technologies and services PassivSystems are developing and providing today.
Rob has been supporting the development and deployment of advanced smart control systems for PassivSystems since 2013 and has accrued a wealth of knowledge and experience developing installation methods and troubleshooting both remotely and in the field.
Passiv is currently recruiting Technical Heating Engineers to work at its headquarters in Newbury and is expanding its network of Installers across the UK to support this exciting expansion.
